Dubai Metro Zones 2024

The designated limits on the Metro Lines that are utilized to determine ride fares are known as Dubai metro zones. The Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) has established these zones since it is extremely difficult to calculate fares using conventional methods. Because of these, calculating fares is made very easy and simple, even for travelers.

Public transportation in Dubai is divided into seven zones. Four of them—Zones 1, 2, 5, and 6—are crossed by the combined red and green lines. Other public transit options, including as buses and trams, are used in the other zones. The number of zones you passed through determines how much the transportation fare is. The variation in zone number has no bearing whatsoever on the journey’s price. For instance, if you board a metro from Dubai Metro Zone 1 and arrive at Dubai Metro Zone 6 at the end of your journey then the fare for two zones will be charged as Dubai metro zones 1, and Dubai metro zones 6 are adjacent to each other. The other means of transportation are also charged the same way. For example, if you take the Metro from zone 1 and drop at zone 2, then you take a bus to zone 3; the total fare for 3 zones will be charged.

You must correctly check in and out of each vehicle if you are using more than one kind of transportation. You will be charged the maximum fee for that trip if you did not check out of any vehicles. To utilize any kind of public transportation, your NOL card needs to have a total maximum fare on it. A Silver NOL card has a maximum fare of 7.5 dirhams; other NOL cards may have different maximums. Every zone and station of Metro Dubai is depicted in the image below.

Two Metro Lines pass through Dubai, as the graphic illustrates, and they converge at the Burjuman Station. Out of all the metro station zones in Dubai, these are the busiest. You have to go to the closest station and catch the Metro from there if you want to take a train. You don’t have to worry about the times because trains leave every five to eight minutes. In a single trip, you can change between two modes of transportation. You have to board the other bus within 30 minutes of disembarking from the train in order for the multi-medium trip to be considered a single one. If this is done, the journey will be considered as a single trip. Children and those with disabilities travel free of charge when they use a blue card. In contrast, senior citizens receive a 50% discount on every trip.

You can check the Road and Transportation Authority’s (RTA) Dubai official website for the most recent numbers and fares, as they may change over time. Additionally, until the end of May 2020, the Route 2020 line will be extended, passing through additional zones.
